As DevOPS in Tanzu Service Mesh team you will be responsible for Deploying Microservices and Core Infrastructure to support the TSM SaaS platform. You will be working with developers, testers and management to ensure Tanzu Service Mesh is updated and all the pipelines are constantly green.
Responsibilities include:
Build, maintain and monitor devops automation systems to improve and maintain the availability of SaaS platform.
Champion processes as GitOPS and Infrastructure as Code
Build and Maintain System Testing environments.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
You will be expected to produce engineering design, review with architects, and develop to deliver devops automation that results in ease of deployment/maintenance & availability of our SAAS platforms
You will be regularly evaluated on the quality of the solution you create and the code you write to ensure continued advancement of your technical skills in an environment that looks to expand them
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Taking responsibility for the specification, design, implementation, testing and deployment of Automated Devops requirements.
Writing well-documented, high performance, reliable, maintainable Golang code.
Play a significant role in design and code reviews with a major focus on modularity, performance, Security, scalability and future expansion.
Develop unit, component, Integration tests for the features you develop
Understanding how customers use our platform and ensuring all the use cases are tested before rolling out to production.
Adopting new technologies and best practices.
Skills:
2 - 4 Years with Bachelors/Master's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering
Good programming experience in the following languages & technology - Golang, Python
Good knowledge in Linux and shell scripting
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other cloud deployment technologies preferred
Familiarity with one or more CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Circle CI or similar. Ability to ramp-up quickly and contribute to a production codebase
Familiarity with micro services would be a significant plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
Able to demonstrate effective teamwork both within the immediate team as well as collaborate with multiple teams within the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A strong desire and ability to mentor and encourage team members.
Flexibility and adaptability to be able to change direction quickly to meet the dynamic needs of the business.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Engineering/Chennai Site Leader at VMware MAM Business Group, an experienced software engineer and manager.
