About the Service
headspace Upper Coomera, located on Yugambeh land, is a place where young people aged 12 – 25 can get free and confidential support for their mental health, access non-judgemental information and support around drugs or ******* and access to a GP. The service provides leading edge services in youth mental health with a focus on early intervention.
Your Opportunity
We are looking for a passionate Mental Health Clinician to engage with young people and their families, providing an assessment of their needs and support their health with evidence based brief interventions and treatment planning.
This position is permanent full-time. We will consider a 4-day working week for the right applicant. This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to gain more experience in youth mental health.
The gross annual salary ranges from $88,109 to $100,785 plus superannuation and the option to take advantage of salary packaging.
What we are looking for
You will be excited to work in the youth mental health sector, be proactive and dedicated and looking for your next exciting challenge. Your ability to think on your feet and work effectively in a dynamic, agile environment will be coupled with:
Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or Counselling
Eligibility for membership with the relevant professional body such as AHPRA or the Australian Association of Social Workers
Experience in provision of assessment of mental health needs, case formulation and treatment planning aligned to identified level of care needs
Delivery of evidence-based interventions in the areas of youth mental health using a Single Session Therapy Model, Family Inclusive Practice and Brief Intervention models of care.
Capacity to manage a caseload working within a high demand service, including documentation, treatment planning, risk assessments, and care coordination
Ability to relate to young people in a relevant, youth-friendly, and appropriate manner
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and capability to present at team meetings and case reviews
Highly collaborative, solutions-focused, and passionate about process improvements – we welcome ideas and suggestions to make things better
A valid Driver’s License and Queensland Working with Children Check
