NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is 4/7 shifts (this includes nightshift, public holidays and weekends).
Stobhill Mental Health Campus is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse to join the dedicated team on one of our mental health wards within our vast site. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, delivering high-quality, person-centred care alongside a multidisciplinary team.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in acute mental health care, with the ability to work effectively in a team, manage risk in a high-pressure environment, and support patients through their recovery journey. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building trust with patients, families, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring dignity and respect. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in line with best practices and individualised recovery pathways.
Monitor mental and physical health and respond proactively to any changes in condition or risk. Work collaboratively with community teams to ensure seamless transitions between inpatient and outpatient care.
Offer education and support to families, colleagues and carers, ensuring they feel informed and involved in the care process. Participate in clinical audits, continuing professional development, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
