An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time innovative, motivated and experienced registered Mental Health Practitioner to work with our community mental health team for older people, providing specialist support for people with complex emotional needs (CEN) in the context of later life.
As part of the Community Mental Health Transformation we are committed to developing trauma informed, evidence-based support for working age and older adults with complex emotional needs. This is an innovative and exiting post which has been funded specifically to support our emerging pathway for older people. The post holder will be responsible for providing support to patients with CEN in the context of later life (who may also have a diagnosis of personality disorder), working with a broad range of service providers across all tiers of Mental Health Care and with partner agencies; to deliver effective interventions that meet the needs of this population.
The post holder will work closely with our CEN Clinical Lead, Nurse Consultant, Psychologist and wider cohort of SCM practitioners, to develop a bespoke offer for older people. There will be a comprehensive network of support, including regular individual and group supervision and access to specialist training and accreditation in evidence-based treatments for CEN.
This position requires a high level of autonomous practice and competence in decisions about risk and treatment planning.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced mental health practitioner to join our well-established, friendly and supportive Community Mental Health Team for Older People (CMHTOP) in Rotherham.
The post holder will be responsible for providing support to patients with CEN in the context of later life (who may also have a diagnosis of personality disorder), working with a broad range of service providers across all tiers of Mental Health Care and with partner agencies; to deliver effective interventions that meet the needs of this population. This will include Structured Clinical Management and other evidence-based treatments where appropriate.
The post holder will work closely with our CEN Clinical Lead, nurse consultant and wider cohort of SCM practitioners, to develop a bespoke offer for older people. There will be a comprehensive network of support, including regular individual and group clinical supervision and access to specialist training and accreditation in evidence-based treatments of CEN.
These positions require a high level of autonomous practice, and practitioners will be confident clinicians able to make competent decisions about risk, care planning and the appropriateness of home treatment. Post holders will have relevant knowledge and experience of mental health acute/ crisis work in the community.
