Job Description
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality psychological support and intervention services to detainees. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement effective support programs and policies that promote mental health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Psychological Support Program Framework: Lead the planning and development of new psychological support programs during the transition phase for establishing new detention facility services.
Establish New Policies and Procedures: Develop and document new policies and procedures for psychological support services, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and best practices.
Coordinate Training for Key Staff: Design and deliver training sessions for key staff on new psychological support services, focusing on effective implementation and adherence to new policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Psychology or Clinical Psychology
Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist
Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience
Demonstrated experience in providing psychological support and intervention services, preferably in diverse or multicultural settings
Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles, cultural competency, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities
Strong ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and professional integrity
