About the Position
This is a full-time position located at Salinas Valley State Prison. You will work 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 24 months or becoming permanent.
As a Psychiatric Technician (Safety), you will be responsible for organizing and providing basic level general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in accordance with the Mental Health Program Guide, policies and procedures, and regulations in a variety of correctional health care settings.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients, providing support to the care team for daily health care operations, and communicating effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE
