About the role
Life With Purpose Home Care is seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Blacktown, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing compassionate and personalized support to individuals with mental health needs, helping them to achieve their goals and live independently within the community.
What you'll be doing
Assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
Providing emotional support and counselling to clients, helping them to develop coping strategies and manage their mental health
Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care
Advocating for clients and connecting them with community resources and support services
Documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records
Participating in team meetings and ongoing training to continuously improve your skills and knowledge
What we're looking for
Relevant qualifications in mental health, social work, or a related field
Experience providing support to individuals with mental health conditions, either in a professional or personal capacity
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health needs
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
