Job Description
MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in various types of projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The role involves ensuring that all MEP systems are compliant with local regulations, operate efficiently, and provide optimal performance. The engineer will work closely with architects, construction teams, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design MEP systems, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical power and lighting systems, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings and layouts.
Perform calculations for load analysis, energy consumption, and equipment sizing.
Develop specifications and technical documentation for MEP systems.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of MEP systems.
Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
Monitor progress, track timelines, and ensure that projects are completed within scope and budget.
Ensure that all designs and installations meet relevant safety codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, local building codes).
Conduct site inspections and testing to verify the performance and compliance of MEP systems.
Identify and resolve design and installation conflicts and deficiencies.
Develop and implement maintenance programs for installed MEP systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems and provide solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
5 to 7 + years of experience in MEP design and project management.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant software.
Familiarity with energy efficiency standards and sustainable design principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Other Skills:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
