In Home Care Educator – Mermaid Waters (8-Month-Old Infant)
Northern Rivers In Home Care is currently seeking a nurturing, reliable, and experienced Educator to support a lovely family in Mermaid Waters. This role involves caring for one child, an 8-month-old baby, in the family home. The mother is a dedicated single parent and lawyer who requires flexible support during working hours.
Position Details:
Location: Mermaid Waters, QLD
Care Days: 4 days per week – either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday (flexibility is essential)
Hours: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM (depending on the day)
Start Date: ASAP
Child’s Age: 8 months
Hourly rate: $38/39 per hour
About the Role:
You will be responsible for supporting the child’s development in a safe and nurturing home environment. This includes assisting with feeding, sleep routines, play-based learning, and developmental milestones. As Mum works full-time, you must be confident working independently and able to create a calm and enriching atmosphere for the child.
Applicants must meet all of the following:
Certificate III in Children’s Services (ACECQA-approved)
Minimum 2 years’ experience with infants/toddlers
Current First Aid & CPR (specific to early childhood settings)
Blue Card – (QLD)
National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months)
Public Liability Insurance (can be arranged post-placement)
Medical Clearance
Completed Child Protection Training (within the last 2 years)
ABN (This is a contractor/self-employed position)
Valid Photo ID
PRODA RA Number (support available if needed)
Aged 18 years or over
Strong commitment to child safety and child-safe practices
Criteria:
Experience with infants and knowledge of routines, sleep cues, and early developmental needs
Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with the family
Must be able to commit to a long-term role and provide consistency
Desirable:
Experience working in In Home Care or with families one-on-one
Familiarity with documenting observations and supporting individual learning
