We have positions available for new staff to join our Christchurch Microbiology Laboratory operations team on a casual contract as well as a permanent eight-hours on Friday.
Casual Role:
The casual role will be quite varied and will include a range of lab housekeeping duties, sample registration, sample preparation, filtration, and conducting routine bench tests. Some lifting will be required in this role.
This position would suit a candidate who is looking to increase their range of laboratory skills, is very flexible with their time, and is available to work at short notice, including evenings and weekends.
Permanent Part-Time Role:
The permanent eight-hour role on Friday is rostered hours between a 7am and +pm timeframe. Working additional hours may be available when required.
This opportunity would also suit candidates who are currently studying or those looking for a change in career and wanting to develop new skills in a fast-paced, friendly environment.
About You:
Effective team player with excellent communication skills
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail, very accurate and tidy in your work
Excellent computer skills
Be able to develop new ideas and provide solutions to problems
You are self-disciplined with the ability to follow set procedures and take the initiative when necessary
Able to work effectively without direct supervision
