Job Overview
Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy-Astoria seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Math Teacher to join our faith-filled learning community for the upcoming academic year. We are looking for a passionate educator who is committed to fostering academic excellence, spiritual growth, and the holistic development of every child.
Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to elementary school-aged students, adhering to New York State learning standards and the academic curriculum of ICCA.
Integrate Catholic faith and values into daily lessons and classroom activities, ensuring all teaching conforms to the Catholic moral mission and the specific charism of Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy.
Utilize a variety of effective teaching strategies, including inclusive practices, to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love of learning.
Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents regarding student achievement and development.
Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student success and contribute to the overall school community. Examples include retreat days, workshops, and webinars.
Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide events, such as meet and greets, open houses, and fundraisers,as required.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Math, or an Elementary or Secondary Education with a concentration in Math with a commitment to seeking Master’s in Math/ Education; Master's degree in Math preferred
New York State Teaching Certification, or actively working towards licensure, is preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Catholic faith and its teachings.
Ability to teach in a manner that aligns with the Catholic faith and its teachings and the specific values of Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy.
Proficiency in utilizing a variety of teaching strategies, including inclusive practices, to engage diverse learners.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
A growth mindset, strong work ethic, and a genuine love for working with children.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $43,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
