We are currently recruiting for a Mine Technician Blast crewwho will report directly into the Supervisor - Blast. You will be part of a highly motivated team delivering quality blasting serviceswhile ensuring a high level of utilization of all drill and blast crews. This role is being offered on lifestyle friendly 7:7 roster.
A day in the life of aMine Technician Blast crew may include:
Assisting shotfirers with on bench activities, barricading, delineation, priming, loading, stemming, off-siding and operating MPU’s.
Checking drill hole depths are accurate.
Identifying issues with poor quality drilling to improve future drilling performance.
Performing blast guard duties prior to blasting activity.
Ensuring documentation is accurate and to a high standard for Newmont’s records
About you:
As the preferred candidate you will have experience working on Blast Crews and operating MPU’s as well as experience working in a role with significant manual handling and physical labour. Experience operating mobile equipment will be highly regarded. You will be computer literate, hold a current manual C class driver’s licence and demonstrate a safe, positive attitude to your work. A dangerous goods security card, shotfiring licence and HR driver’s licence would all be advantageous.
