Job Description
1. Mining Operations Management:
Oversee day-to-day mining operations, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of activities.
Monitor production targets and implement strategies to optimize mining efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment performance and identify areas for improvement.
2. Extraction Process Optimization:
Develop and implement strategies to optimize ore extraction processes, including drilling, blasting, and hauling.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Conduct analysis of mining data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
3. Safety and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Implement safety initiatives and training programs to promote a culture of safety among mining personnel.
Monitor environmental impact of mining activities and develop strategies to minimize ecological footprint.
4. Equipment Maintenance and Reliability:
Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Develop preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for mining equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare regular reports on mining operations, production metrics, and safety performance.
Maintain accurate documentation of mining activities, including production records, equipment logs, and safety reports.
Provide analysis and recommendations based on data insights to support decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
1-5 years of experience in mining operations, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of mining principles, techniques, and equipment.
Proficiency in mining software and data analysis tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience with regulatory compliance in the mining industry.
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
