About the role
Role: Mining Engineer
In this role, you will:
• Minimum 8 years' experience in broad range of open cut Mine Engineering preferably open cut coal
Practical experience with mine design, scheduling, drill and blast , understanding geology, and other related mining support services
• innovative approach to problem solving and ability to define critical value drivers (cost and revenue) in an operation
• Ability to communicate effectively with Technical Personnel
• Previous experience working with cultures outside of home country
About you
• Strong English communication skills, both written and oral
• effective customer facing skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally.
• Knowledge of the mine planning software currently implemented within Thiess.
• Knowledge of design and scheduling best practice tools and methodologies.
• Tertiary qualified in a relevant technical discipline (eg Mining, Civil or Mechanical Engineering)
