Tenei turanga - About the Role:
We are seeking a Ministerial Services Advisor to join our team and help play an integral role in the Labour Science and Enterprise (LSE) Ministerial Services team. This type of role is a great way to gain a better understanding of the machinery of government and provide advice and support across LSE on the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA).

The team is responsible for the delivery of high quality and timely responses to OIA requests and official correspondence on behalf of the Ministry and its Ministers.

LSE is a group within the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE). We work with people, businesses, regions, and the science, innovation and education systems to help the country and New Zealanders to be successful.

The role will support the work of the team by assisting with OIA responses and allocation of work through the Nexus workflow tool and helping manage the shared inbox. The role will have interactions across LSE, wider MIBE and members of the public as required.

Skills and Experience Required

Demonstrated ability to form positive professional working relationships.
Understanding of MBIE and where the team fits in delivering outcomes for MBIE
Political acumen and sound knowledge of Parliamentary and government structures and processes.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, rules, and regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
Experience in the day-to-day management of OIA requests - Including, Preparing responses to Official Information Act requests that meet quality and timeliness requirements.
Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with managers and staff.
Great organisational skills that enable you to follow processes and meet deadlines.
A positive and infectious can-do attitude that makes you indispensable to any team.
