Job Description
At Anglicare Sydney, we bring the strength, the support and the strategy to make it happen.
We’re a well‑respected not‑for‑profit that has been serving communities for over 170 years. Across our property portfolio, we manage and maintain a diverse range of assets that support aged care, seniors communities and community services across New South Wales.
This is an opportunity to lead a specialist Minor Works function that delivers practical, high‑impact outcomes — ensuring our buildings and environments remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose for the people who live and work within them.
Know you can. Believe we will.
Your opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Property Management, you will lead the Minor Works team in the delivery of end‑to‑end project management for a portfolio of minor works projects across Anglicare Sydney’s property assets.
As the Minor Works Manager, you will oversee project feasibility, planning, design, construction and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards. You will lead and develop a team of Minor Works Project Managers and work closely with asset owners, operational leaders, consultants, contractors and internal teams to meet organisational and operational needs.
This is a senior operational leadership role requiring strong technical capability, sound judgement and the ability to balance strategic oversight with hands‑on delivery.
With integrity and leadership, you will:
Lead and develop the Minor Works team, building capability, accountability and a culture of high performance
Deliver full lifecycle project management of minor works projects across a broad portfolio, with an annual program value of approximately $13M
Develop and implement an enterprise‑wide Minor Works delivery strategy aligned with organisational goals
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in compliance with relevant legislation, standards and policies
Oversee design documentation and resolve technical issues, ambiguity and risk
Manage contracts and negotiate with consultants and contractors to achieve cost‑effective outcomes
Build strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners
Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies across all project phases
Contribute to the organisation’s safety culture in line with WHS and Injury Management System requirements
What you’ll bring
You are a confident and experienced property professional with strong leadership capability and a practical, solutions‑focused approach. You thrive in complex environments, are comfortable making decisions, and bring a high level of professionalism, integrity and accountability to your work.
You understand the realities of delivering building and capital works in operational environments and know how to balance competing priorities while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and stakeholder communication.
You will also need:
Qualifications in Building, Project Management or a related building trade discipline
Comprehensive knowledge of the NSW building industry, legislation and regulatory environment
Minimum five years’ experience in project management across multi‑disciplinary construction projects
Minimum five years’ experience in asset or facilities management at a management level
Demonstrated experience leading staff and managing consultants and contractors
Strong financial, contract and risk management capability
A current driver’s licence
Experience with Archibus or similar systems (desirable)
