Job Description
The opportunity:

We are looking for a Mobile Drug Safety & NSP Outreach worker (Dual Role) to join our supportive and professional multidisciplinary teams in a part time capacity.

Mobile Drug Safety Worker

FTE 0.4, 15.2 hours per week.

Preferred over 3 days (Wed, Thur, Fri)

In accordance with “Health and Allied Services Managers and Administrative Officers Multiple EA 2026-2026 - Level 2”

Responsibilities but not limited to:

Provide one-on-one, non-judgemental harm reduction support and referrals
Support people with complex health and social needs to access services
Monitor emerging drug use trends and contribute to local harm reduction strategies
Plan and deliver education sessions on safer injecting, overdose prevention and BBV awareness
Deliver workforce training and contribute to interagency collaboration
Coordinate naloxone distribution and overdose response education
Maintain accurate records and comply with safety, quality and legislative requirements

Needle Syringe Program - Outreach Worker

FTE 0.05, 2 hours per week, based on 12-week roster

Sat or Sun and evening - EBA weekend rates apply

In accordance with “SACS level 4 pay point 5”.

Responsibilities but not limited to:

Deliver mobile NSP outreach across Melbourne’s eastern region
Distribute sterile injecting equipment and collect used items
Provide non-judgemental harm reduction education and brief interventions
Conduct evening and night outreach with priority populations
Respond to syringe disposal and support community safety
Provide referrals and service navigation support
Maintain vehicle stock, supplies and equipment
Complete accurate data entry and records
Work collaboratively within an outreach team
Follow safety, quality and organisational procedures
Desired Skills and Experience

Is comfortable working autonomously in community and outreach settings
Can engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences
Communicates clearly and works well within a multidisciplinary team
Is organised, reflective, and committed to quality and continuous improvement
Essential:

Tertiary qualification in AOD, Community Services, Social Work (or similar), or
Certificate IV in ******* and Other Drugs with relevant experience
Strong understanding of harm reduction, BBV prevention, and overdose response
Experience in outreach, education, community engagement or AOD services
Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
Current Working with Children Check
Desirable:

Lived experience of ******* and other drug use
Experience in NSP, outreach, peer-based or mobile services
Experience delivering education or workforce training
Understanding of the Social Model of Health
Note:

These roles are covered by different enterprise agreements.
Successful candidates will receive separate contracts, and entitlements will be calculated according to the relevant agreement for each role.
Overtime, allowances, and breaks will be applied per role, not combined.
