Mobile Engineer III- Android
The Core Experience Engineering organization at Expedia Group is the team responsible for providing outstanding experiences for both our travelling customers and business partners alike! Core experience Engineering builds the UI capabilities that power traveler experiences across our core brands of Expedia, Hotels.com , Vrbo, and Hotwire, Expedia Group Partner Central, and our portfolio of hosted B2B white label partners.
As a Mobile Engineer on Android within the App Growth team of Core Experience , you will be pivotal to our ambition of a best-in-class mobile app experience, crafting scalable solutions and frameworks. You will be focused on building mobile app experiences across our traveler and partner products while ensuring a contextual, personalized, and cohesive experience for all platforms and brands.
What You Will Do
• You will be leading & mentoring a team of iOS, Android and web engineers in feature development
• Collaborate with teams across the organization spread across different geo locations
Who You Are
• Bachelor's or Masters degree in a Technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• Ability to write clean, systematic code and follow established coding conventions
• Experience with mentoring junior engineers and applying new engineering principles to improve existing systems including leading complex, well defined projects.
• Drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our software development process within an Agile development team
• Write automated unit, system and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration pipelines.
• Ability to identify business problems at the project level and provide solutions
• Maintained/ran at least 3 software project/product in production environments (bug fixing, troubleshooting, monitoring etc.)
• Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate
• Collaborate closely with the product and technical product manager for your team to track progress and deliver team goals each sprint
• Solid grasp of Agile Software Development mechanisms
• Understanding of how teams’ goals fit a business need
• You understand when and how to reward and recognize team members.
