Roles and Responsibilities
Overview
The EV Model line coordinates an EV vehicle family over the entire life cycle - from the idea through development, production, sales and series support to the end of production.
The model line is responsible for the entire life cycle of a vehicle
In addition to the development of new models, the tasks also include variants, series support and model maintenance
The Model line has the responsibility to consistently create vehicle requirements optimizing that as much as possible in a number of standard platforms starting from Inputs coming from Product planning and Business units
It has the responsibility to manage and steer the counterparts to execute the schedule of the vehicle project and to define the “what” and “when” a platform need to have.
The Model line head is managing Platform managers and consequently Project managers that are responsible for the various trades – body, electrics, chassis, drive and complete vehicle, but also for production, sales, project and process management and procurement – in all model series.
The person would be responsible for planning and control of all product and processes relating to the development of individual platforms (EV) for both the Indian domestic market and Co's chosen global markets worldwide.
He will act to mobilize and drive the Centers of Competence and other parties across the organization to ensure that all projects targets are achieved including product quality, Business cases, cost and timelines.
He will provide technical and product leadership in respect of the individual model line to help influence and guide product strategy in the international arena.
He will leverage experience in organizational management and technical areas to deliver products that exceed customer expectations.
He will drive the model line toward the future of mobility linking and considering all the future business opportunities and interaction, that vehicle will have In term of IOT, charging infrastructure and future digital technologies.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all product planning and controlling of his vehicle families and linked EV ecosystem projects as per the approved Cycle Plan
• Provides the input for creating the Cycle Plan for his model line
• Discusses proactively with Product Planning and Business units in order to converge to the generation of good quality IPCs
• Monitors the risks and health of his model line through PM
Responsible for target achievement (QCT and Business case) for his model line-up
• Facilitates decision making for problem resolution within platform/projects together with other Department Heads
• Gives guidance related to the commonalities among the platforms
• Plan the cost improvement (observing project targets) and evolution in the future based on commonality strategies Vehicle and linked ecosystem Roadmap
• Responsible to consolidate a vehicle and linked ecosystem roadmap according to the Company strategy and targets received from Product planning and BU.
Responsible to report the projects progress, gates achievement and seek approval for any deviations from OC
• Guide/handholding the PL role for Lead/key projects in early projects phases
