Position: Model/Texture Artist
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Pay Range: $112,800-$169,200 USD annually
POSITION SUMMARY:
Company 3 currently has openings for a project hire Model/Texture Artist to work on projects within our VFX department. This position will be located in Santa Monica.
The perfect candidate needs to be a dependable, team player with a great attitude, and be flexible with our fast turnarounds. They will work closely with the VFX Supervisor and VFX Producer in achieving the highest creative and technical standards of work.
MAIN DUTIES (Model):
Create and design both photo realistic and stylized models with accuracy
Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
Adhere to technical standards of the production needs
Follow Supervisor and Lead directions, ensuring models created are accurate and effective
Fully comprehend the requirements on the designs thereby creating models true to their designs
Be capable of taking direction and criticism well
Report technical and other potential problems to Leads and Supervisors in a timely fashion
MAIN DUTIES (Texture):
Create and design accurate textures
Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
Ensure all working files are efficiently organized and that all work complies with Company 3's technical standards and specifications
Follow Supervisor directions, ensuring textures created are accurate and effective
Fully comprehend the requirements of the designs thereby creating textures true to the approved concept and direction; Create and modify textures by following the creative direction of the production
Report technical problems and potential issues to Supervisors in a timely fashion.
WHAT YOU BRING (Model):
Expert level knowledge of Maya and Zbrush
Strong knowledge of displacement map and normal map generation
The ability to prioritize & multitask
Solid organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of Houdini and Scripting is a plus
WHAT YOU BRING (Texture):
Expert level knowledge of Mari
Strong knowledge of displacement map and normal map generation
Experience utilizing Maya
Proficiency in Photoshop
Technical understanding of color space
The ability to prioritize & multitask
Solid organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of Substance Painter a plus
