Job Description
Allen Lane are excited to support the London Borough of Newham in their recruitment of a Modern Workplace Engineer on a permanent basis. This hands-on role is pivotal in ensuring the council’s users get the best out of their digital tools, devices and collaborative platforms. Please note that this is a hybrid role and candidates will be required to be on site up to 2 days per week.
As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you will:
• Deliver outstanding technical support for all aspects of personal computing and user connectivity.
• Help users make the most of modern workplace tools including laptops, M365 apps, and remote working setups.
• Install, configure and maintain hardware and software to ensure systems are always fit for purpose.
• Troubleshoot issues, escalate when needed, and take ownership of complex technical problems.
• Support secure IT operations by enforcing and adhering to IT policies and security protocols.
As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you must have:
• Strong experience supporting devices, collaboration platforms, and user-facing technology in a complex environment.
• Knowledge of incident management, systems installation and network support.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering great customer service.
• Experience using Endpoint management tools including Intune plus productivity and collaboration tools
• The ability to take initiative, solve problems and promote digital adoption across the organisation.
