This role is classified as Level 2 (annual base salary $70,286 - $91,813) under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Department

SBS Audio Language Division is the most multilingual public broadcaster in the world. With 60 plus language services, we deliver news, information and entertainment and inspire social cohesion by connecting communities through multilingual conversations, helping everyone feel at home in Australia.

The Role

With a sound understanding of the Mongolian-speaking community in Australia and its cultural sensitivities, as a producer, you will contribute to fostering audience engagement on-air and online. Prior experience in journalism or broadcasting will be highly regarded.

Candidates must have full working rights and reside in Sydney or Melbourne to be eligible applicants.

This role is being offered on a casual basis and is to be performed onsite from our studios during your assigned shifts.

About you

The ability to research, write, produce, translate, and present audio content (including news, current affairs and community stories) in Mongolian language on radio and/or online platforms.
Proficiency in speaking and typing in Mongolian as well as English. You are comfortable participating in a language assessment task as part of the interview process.
A solid understanding of the Mongolian-speaking community in Australia and the perspectives that matter.
Demonstrated professional experience of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram would be an advantage.
The preferred candidate will undertake language and journalist assessments as part of the recruitment process.
