Job Description
The Monitor Technician is responsible for continuous observation of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. The technician delivers telemetry to units and performs hook-up/discharge, patient preparation, and teaching related to the monitor.
Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent. Certificate of completion in monitor technician course or equivalent. One (1) year of acute care experience Monitor Tech. Possess and maintains current certification in AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers. Must be well organized, able to manage multiple priorities. Understanding and familiarity with medical terminology. Basic Computer Skills. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and staff.
