Job Description
The Juneau Montessori School provides a high quality Montessori education to 50 children ages 16 months - 6 years old at a beautiful historic building close to Sandy Beach. We are hiring for a dynamic position that will change every day based on our staffing and school's needs. Generally, you will spend the morning "behind the scenes" helping with everyday chores like dishes, material making, laundry, and school organization. Midday you might join a classroom for lunch, play with children on the playground, and help children fall asleep at naptime. You will help children to be independent with getting in and out of their outdoor gear for recess. In the afternoon, you will lead arts and crafts activities in our aftercare program. You will often fill in in different classrooms, so you will work with lots of different adults and children! Hours: 8:30 am - 5 pm Monday-Friday
3 weeks paid leave per year, plus paid holidays and breaks
$1/hour additional stipend for health and wellness after the first 90 days

Ideally located in the beautiful historic Mayflower building in downtown Douglas, Alaska (a short drive from Juneau) and within walking distance to the beach and the forest, Juneau Montessori School is a holistic and hands-on non-profit Montessori program serving toddlers through kindergarten age children. We have served Juneau's families for 35 years and aim to positively shape the future by cultivating the next generation of inquisitive, independent, socially responsible young citizens. We are the only school in the state recognized by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and are also licensed as a childcare facility by the State of Alaska.
