Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Morning/Evening Photography & Videography Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate is experienced in both photo and video production and is excited to mentor beginners as they build their creative and technical skills.
As an instructor, you’ll lead classes of aspiring creatives, teaching foundational to intermediate techniques, guiding hands-on practice, and preparing students for real-world opportunities in photography and videography.
Duties
Teach core skills in photography and videography, including:
Camera operation (photo & video)
Lighting (natural light, video light, and flash/strobe)
Sound basics
Editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop or similar)
Business and branding fundamentals for creatives
Deliver lessons in an engaging, clear, and practical way.
Provide feedback and mentorship to students on projects and assignments.
Ensure students gain confidence with real-world scenarios (e.g., event coverage, photoshoots, short films).
Support Alberta Film School’s mission of providing hands-on, real-world training.
Qualifications
Proven professional experience in photography and videography (portfolio required).
Strong technical skills with cameras, lighting setups, and editing software.
Previous teaching, training, or mentorship experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work weekday mornings/evenings, Monday – Friday.
Passion for helping beginners grow into confident creatives.
