Job description

United Community is seeking a highly skilled Universal Banker at our Fairburn, GA location. As a Universal Banker, you will have the opportunity to deliver excellent experiences for customers and prospects. In addition to assisting with everyday transactions, you will support customers with their financial wellness by having needs-based conversations, identifying appropriate solutions. Depending on your experience, you may be considered for either a Universal Banker I or II position.

What You’ll Do

• Drive proactive needs-based sales conversations through interactions, including service to sales, teller interactions and appointment setting

• Assist customers financially by delivering loan products, while ensuring packages are correct and complete to minimize exceptions

• Identify opportunities and make referrals cross-sell banking products and services, to other areas of the bank

• Educate customers on options for managing transactions using technology and all other tools and resources available

• Apply product and service knowledge to effectively solve customer problems

• Process deposits, withdrawals, and other routine transactions with accuracy and confidentiality

• Ensure adherence to banking regulations and internal policies

Requirements For Success

• 1+ years of previous banking or cash handling experience

• Demonstrated analytical, accuracy, and problem-solving skills

• Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills

• Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.

Preferred Knowledge And Skills

• NMLS License preferred

• Current Notary Public Certification preferred

Job Summary

The Mortgage Operations - Loan Processor / Closer is responsible for the accuracy of loan packages, ensuring guidelines are met and loans are closed in compliance with State, Federal, TILA and RESPA regulations as well as applicable policy and investor requirements. The team member is responsible for being a back-up for processing loan application packages according to compliance guidelines and regulations, submitting files to underwriting, clearing issues and coordinating closings, and will support post-closing processes as needed. In addition, responsible for managing relationships with appraisal vendor management companies, insurance agents, attorneys and other related third parties to ensure the most efficient closing for the borrower. Also responsible for reviewing all closed mortgage loans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and conformance with Bank policies; keeping accurate records of status and communication on every file; refining procedures as necessary.

Education

High School diploma

Prior Experience

Prior banking and loan experience needed; 5-8 years mortgage loan processing & closing experience required.

Required Skills & Talent

Must have a basic knowledge of the bank's products and services.

Must have a willingness to serve.

Must be able to function efficiently in a network environment and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

Must be able to function efficiently on a general business level of math, possess general accounting knowledge (i.e. debits, credits, and an understanding of the bank's account reconciliations).
