We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our growing team in Moorabbin. This is a full-time role offering stability, competitive remuneration, and the opportunity to work with a well-established automotive repairer committed to excellence.

Position: Motor Mechanic
Location: Moorabbin, VIC
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines, steering systems, transmissions, and other key vehicle components.
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engine assemblies, steering mechanisms, braking systems, and other mechanical parts as required.
Carry out repairs and replacements of worn, damaged, or defective components using workshop manuals and diagnostic tools.
Conduct scheduled servicing, including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to ensure vehicles run smoothly and comply with emission standards.
Use modern diagnostic equipment and computer-based systems to test and analyse vehicle performance.
Reassemble and test vehicles after repairs to confirm safety, efficiency, and optimal performance.
Perform road tests to verify work quality and confirm roadworthiness.
Provide accurate assessments of repair needs and prepare work required for roadworthy certification.
Ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards for safety and environmental compliance.
Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with clients regarding issues and repair solutions.
Support colleagues in the workshop, assist with complex jobs, and contribute to maintaining a safe and organised workplace.
Qualifications & Experience

AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (including at least two years of on-the-job training), or AQF Certificate IV in a relevant field.
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic.
Strong knowledge of modern diagnostic equipment and repair techniques.
Roadworthy certification licence (desirable but not essential).
Hours & Remuneration

Full-time: 38 hours per week, including weekends as required.
Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation per annum.
