Position: Experienced Automotive Mechanic

Main Tasks:

Perform log-book servicing on various vehicle makes and models, covering tasks such as engine oil change, filter replacement, tyre rotation, and brake/suspension testing.

Fixing transmissions, steering mechanisms and assembling engines.

Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including G-Scan 2, to identify and resolve mechanical/electrical faults.

Apply extensive experience to diagnose and address issues with vehicles, engines, drivelines, and associated parts.

Execute complex tasks, including the replacement of timing belts, clutches, and disassembling/reassembling various engine components.

Independently replace/repair worn or faulty parts.

Note: The role may evolve to align with company objectives.

Other Duties:

Maintain workshop cleanliness to high standards.

Ensure customer vehicles are returned in a clean and presentable condition.

Assist with general administration tasks, including parts ordering and stock control.

Oversee and enforce compliance with WHS policies among junior staff.

Qualifications:

Current Motor Mechanic Trade Certificate (minimum certificate 3, diploma preferred)

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.

Knowledge & Experience:

Proven experience in fault finding and diagnosing complex issues

General servicing of vehicles – all makes and models

High competency in replacing timing belts and associated parts

Extensive experience in disassembling and removing various parts, including engines and transmissions

Proficiency in reassembling dismantled parts, such as engines and gearboxes

Expertise in repairing/replacing worn or faulty parts

Proficient in scan tool diagnostics

Knowledge of vehicle safety requirements under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011

Pay: $72,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
