Project support

We have an immediate requirement for a Motor Vehicle Technician to join our dedicated Plant and Transport division. The Plant & Transport team is based at Head Office in Southampton, and they are responsible for servicing and maintaining our fleet of vehicles and plant across the business.

This is a full-time position, and the hours of work are 07:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday each week.

• Reporting to the Plant & Transport Foreman, duties include but are not limited to:

• Servicing & mechanical repairs to cars & light commercial vehicles from various manufacturers

• Testing, diagnosing, and resolving faults on cars and light commercial vehicles

• Working on electrical & mechanical systems

• Inspecting components for wear & tear

• Checking vehicle subsystems

• Attending our various sites for routine maintenance and repair

• Ensuring that Health & Safety is at the forefront of all tasks undertaken

• Supporting other Technicians in the Workshop

Required Skills/Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance Repair or time served Technician/Mechanic with appropriate practical experience

• Have the knowledge to use modern diagnostic equipment

• A second year Apprentice would also be considered

• A strong commitment to the highest standards of health & safety

• Work to the highest quality standards

• Full UK driving licence

• Team player with good communication skills
