Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

The Māori and Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) Kaitūhono Mahi Employment Consultant is based within the Tiriti Partnerships and Māori Success Directorate, reporting to the Māori and Pasifika Trades Training Manager, and will:

Contribute to the development and implementation of the Waikato Māori and Pasifika Trades Training (MPTT) Programme.
Build effective relationships with MPTT students to ensure their labour market profile is suitable and sustainable.
Build effective relationships with stakeholders to maximise apprenticeship and employment opportunities. This includes providing advice and assistance to businesses regarding workforce planning, training pathways and recruitment, providing post-placement support to graduates and employers, with a particular focus on securing and connecting students/graduates with vacancies.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $77,500 to $96,800 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

A relevant diploma or degree in the area of Business or Relevant service sector or the equivalent in experience.
At least 6 years’ experience in working in a relationship development role.
Able to exercise judgement in problem solving.
Ability to be innovative, to question the status quo and to adapt to changing circumstances. Ability to use initiative.
Highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues to resolve issues and meet agreed outcomes.
Experience working in Māori and/or Pacific communities.
