Reports To: Director of IT
Description:
Systel is looking for an IT Technician to maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. You will also train users in sthe afe and appropriate usage of computer hardware and software. An ideal IT Technician will have a good knowledge of network utilities and operating systems. The candidate must also have good troubleshooting skills and the ability to work without direct supervision. The position has plenty of career and knowledge growth opportunities in Systems Administration, Network Administration, and Software Development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to support inquiries and requests for technical assistance from staff and provide technical assistance.
- Install and configure appropriate software according to IT policy and user needs.
- Inspect and troubleshoot computer hardware (workstation internals) and peripherals (monitors, mouse, etc.) to ensure the functionality
- Organize and schedule upgrades/maintenance with minimal impact on users
- Accurately maintain records of repair, transactions, problems, and action is taken.
- Assist in maintenance & administration of business-critical servers and networking equipment.
- Work with vendors to resolve any hardware or software issue, internally and end user related.
- All other assigned tasks and duties.
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Education
- Degree in Information Technology or related field. Alternatively, vocational schooling with IT coursework.
Experience:
- Would like to see 1-3 years in IT Support or similar technical position.
