Ottawood Film Group is looking for a contract-based Narrative Editor to cut a high-volume slate of short-form scripted dramas. This is a fast-paced role with tight deadlines, ideal for someone who’s confident shaping story quickly and efficiently.

Contract (3–4 weeks)

Pay range: $2,000–$4,000 per contract
Location reference: Richmond Hill (remote position)
About the Role
You’ll be editing short-form narrative drama content, working across an average of 50 episodes, each 1–2 minutes long. The turnaround is tight and the volume is high, so speed, clarity, and strong storytelling instincts are essential. You’ll be working closely with a Post Production Coordinator to hit delivery targets.
Responsibilities
Edit short-form scripted drama episodes
Maintain clear narrative flow and emotional pacing
Handle multiple episodes simultaneously under tight deadlines
Deliver clean, organized timelines ready for review and export
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of editing experience
DaVinci Resolve is mandatory
Proven ability to work fast with consistent quality
Comfortable managing multiple episodes at once
Portfolio or reel required (narrative work preferred)
Nice to Have
Familiarity with short-form or serialized drama
Additional language skills
Assistant editing background
Experience with AI tools, temp VFX, or light finishing work
