Scope
Responsible for managing all of the India sales team members (4-5 direct reports, approx. 10 total) and supporting them to achieve primary and secondary sales targets for all India distributors within given Opex budgets
Job Summary
Responsible for meeting the primary and secondary sales targets for all India distributors by ensuring proper implementation of marketing programmes and planned coverages through the field sales team. Grow market share and key category share in contact lenses for India. Increase share and presence in Key National chains for CVI.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities
• Meet and exceed both primary and secondary sales budgets for all distributors across India
• Ensures coverage and call averages as per plan for the sales team across India
• Grow share and business with Key National chains for branded business – develop strong rapport with key personnel in these accounts and meet set objectives especially for select product groups.
• Review with sales team and distributors monthly sales (vs. yearly target, by product) and plan and put in action steps to meet and exceed budgets
• Meet secondary sales targets through effective Distributor management in terms of service, inventory, AR, in keeping with the set norms and take immediate steps to curb deviations if any.
• Coordinate with the Country Head, Regional logistics and the distributors on the monthly product forecasts, rolling forecasts, timely orders and payments.
• Coordinate with Professional Services for CMEs and trainings both internal and external
• Ensure effective implementation of national and local marketing/trade programmes and timely settlement of claims etc.
• Play active role in new product introductions, product rationalizations and pricing review
• Ensure timely reporting on field activities in the prescribed formats and provide timely market intelligence reports including competitor activities.
• On the job training and coaching of the sales team and ensure up to date knowledge levels on own products as well as competitive information.
• Develops and grooms the sales team into a high-performance unit with increasing levels of managerial skills and high levels of engagement
Travel Requirements
Extensive national (8-10 days a month) and occasional international travel
Qualifications

• Written and Spoken fluency in English and Hindi, other local dialects

Experience
• Substantial sales experience in an optical company or organized FMCG/Pharma company with man management/team handling and distributor handling experience.
• Working experience across 2-3 cities in India
Education
Graduate with a Management degree or equivalent
