Ko te turanga mahi | About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is an excellent communicator, adept at using initiative and enjoys working as part of a team. The successful applicant will be part of a team teaching either Nautical Foreign Going or Domestic Maritime and STCW safety courses. If you have a Tertiary Level qualification that would be great if not a Certificate in Tertiary Teaching is attainable within the role.
Mōku ake | About you:
You bring either a New Zealand Domestic, or Foreign Going Nautical Maritime Qualification with industry experience with preference for Maritime experience as Skipper or Master Foreign Going and STCW courses. You will show a willingness to retrain in an educational environment and take responsibility for student success. Have humour, humility and possess an ability to inform others in an engaging manner in the classroom, working amongst multi-cultural, all aged groups of individuals. Experience in teaching or training would be valuable with a willingness to retrain in an educational environment

Established in 1970 Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) (Te Whare Takiura o Manukau) has been delivering Maritime Education for over fifty years. We place learners at the centre of their learning and this role is crucial to that journey.
