Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits
The Technical Advice and Practice Improvement Branch (TAPIB) is part of the Operations, Performance and Capability Division and is responsible for providing specialist technical, clinical and operational advice in relation to complex cases and support requests.

Within the TAPIB Operations and Practice Improvement Stream, the Capability and Governance Team is responsible for a broad range of functions, including:

Drafting and establishing key Branch governance, training, and process resources in collaboration with Branch subject matter experts.
Publishing, periodically reviewing, and communicating updates regarding all key Branch resources to Branch staff
Developing high-quality Branch documentation and templates that champion inclusive and universal design
Supporting planning and actioning of Branch-wide projects and Continuous Improvement initiatives
Managing project deliverables within timeframes, including short, medium and long-term projects.
Managing Branch ICT platforms (MS Teams / SharePoint, Intranet, Confluence), and assisting with Branch-specific content and ICT requests
This role is part of a collaborative team who deliver projects, often requiring rapid responsive in a dynamic Branch.

Working directly and indirectly with key internal and external stakeholders throughout all stages of Branch Continuous Improvement initiatives by attending meetings and generating meeting briefs and process drafts
Utilising Microsoft Office and Branch formatting standards to create consistent and accessible Branch documentation
Resolving or escalating Branch ICT requests related to the Intranet, Confluence, and MS Teams / SharePoint
Managing project management progress using a kanban board approach (Microsoft Planner)

Our Ideal candidate should be driven by the following:

Effective collaboration and communication with Team members
Able to flexibly manage multiple projects simultaneously / reprioritise when needed
Able to summarise and communicate project progress, and recognise and communicate limitations to project deliverables.
Attention to detail, specifically regarding accessibility and consistent formatting across all key Branch resources
Experience or formal qualifications in the following areas is desirable but not required:

Intranet content author training
Editing Intranet and Confluence pages
Designing MS Teams / SharePoint networks
Professional writing skills
Project Management (e.g. Agile Methodology)

While this role is ideally performed from WA-Midland, NSW-Parramatta, QLD-Chermside, QLD-Brisbane, VIC Geelong and VIC-Richmond, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
