Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Site Readiness & Survey:
Conduct thorough site readiness surveys prior to on-site staging activities during weekday business hours.
On-Site Staging and Rack & Stack Activities:
Complete staging activities, including unboxing, labeling, and physical installation (rack & stack) of equipment per rack elevation diagrams.
Cable equipment according to provided cut sheets, including Ethernet, fiber, and power, ensuring all cables are appropriately dressed and labeled (jumper cables longer than 6 inches).
Power up all network devices and apply the provided configuration files to establish remote connectivity.
Troubleshoot and provide additional Smart Hands support as needed until full remote access to all devices is achieved.
Equipment & Installation Tasks:
Manage routers, switches, wireless controllers, and an OpenGear device.
Oversee the staging process for equipment (excluding Wireless Access Points).
Tools & Support:
Utilize a labeler for both equipment and cable labeling.
Employ a laptop with console connectors for initial configuration loads and device setup
Project Coordination:
Collaborate with the teams to meet aggressive project timelines
Follow detailed instructions, cabling, and labeling standards provided
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and document all installation steps.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience as a Network Engineer with hands-on expertise in equipment staging, rack & stack, and network configuration.
Prior experience with similar large-scale network installations is highly desirable.
Certifications:
CCNA-level certification or equivalent required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco and Meraki devices.
Strong understanding of structured cabling, patch panels, and power distribution units (PDUs).
Experience with troubleshooting network connectivity issues and applying configuration files.
Other Competencies:
Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
