We are recruiting a talented, curious professional with a deep understanding of the private equity industry to support our growing portfolio of executive peer networks. These networks are essentially private, invitation-only executive clubs for leaders whose time is precious. Networks typically meet several times a year, in person and/or virtually, to discuss issues of shared interest. We offer a scarce resource: practical insights and timely, relevant conversations with a community of trusted peers. And there is no fee for members to participate; a small number of sponsoring organizations provide financial support for each network.

So, what do network leaders actually do? In short, they build and sustain these executive communities. They design and launch new peer networks, lead planning calls with network members and sponsors, facilitate roundtable meetings, collaborate with colleagues to develop compelling meeting agendas, draft/edit short white papers to tee up lively group discussions, and support member-initiated benchmarking surveys. As a network member noted recently, “[our network leaders] deftly became part of the group as opposed to facilitators of the group, while also playing critical organizing roles, which I think has been important in building a group of trust.”

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading peer networks for several cohorts of private equity industry executives—including COOs, CFOs, IR leaders, and general counsel from dozens of prominent PE firms. While there is no ideal preparation for this role, network leaders are naturally curious, with a passion for business and organizational leadership. Network members are the real subject matter experts, and network leaders need to quickly get up-to-speed on business, legal, or technical concepts to lead nuanced discussions with a sophisticated executive audience.

As we note in the book, “An effective network leader should always demonstrate the 7 Cs. He or she should be: creative, connected, candid, courageous, collaborative, confident, and credible.”

This is a full-time role, though we may be able to accommodate creative work arrangements in some cases. Workload varies according to the meeting cycle and member call schedule. Since we are a distributed firm, employees enjoy autonomy and personal flexibility in balancing work and other priorities.
