About the Role
As one of Aotearoa New Zealands largest tertiary healthcare providers and a regional or national centre for several surgical specialities, Te Toka Tumai Auckland offers Anaesthetic Technicians a wide range of rewarding opportunities to grow and develop your career.
As an integral part of the perioperative multidisciplinary team, our Anaesthetic Technicians are involved in the delivery of complex surgical care in one of our five operating departments delivering acute and elective surgical services:
Greenlane Surgical Unit - elective ambulatory surgical centre
Starship Childrens Hospital national paediatrics services
Womens Health - obstetrics and gynaecology
Adult and Emergency including neurosurgery, urology and orthopaedics, kidney and liver transplant.
Cardiothoracic and ORL including heart and lung transplant
We also offer you the support to be able to safely navigate all elements of growing and developing your practice within Perioperative Practice.
About the Team/Service/ Location
We offer a structured rotational new graduate programme that provides you with the chance to consolidate your learning and develop competencies in all five operating departments.
You will be supported by our education team and clinical coaches who will provide you with on and off the floor supervision to ensure you meet Medical Sciences Councils (MSC) new entry to practice requirements.
You will have access to funding for continuing professional development as well as a wide range of internally available training and development opportunities.
Upon completion of the new graduate programme, you will have the opportunity to apply for a position in one of our operating departments.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
be a graduate from AUT with the BHSc Perioperative Practise.
be eligible to hold a current Registration and Annual Practising Certificate with MSC
be committed to upholding Health New Zealands obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi
demonstrate a commitment to delivering equitable, high quality, evidence-based, perioperative practice
take a proactive approach to your own learning and development
