We run multiple YouTube channels in the true crime and police bodycam niche. We already have one editor on the team but are now looking for one more reliable editor to handle the workload as we expand.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled YouTube video editor who can replicate editing styles similar to:
Police Activity
Midwest Safety
These are the two main styles we’ll be working with. The work isn’t overly complex, but attention to detail, pacing, and audience retention are critical. You’ll be responsible for editing raw footage (often police bodycam, 911 calls, or crime-related clips) into engaging videos that match the style of the reference channels.
Responsibilities:
Edit raw footage into polished YouTube-ready videos.
Follow the specific style and pacing of the above reference channels.
Add clean text overlays, timestamp displays, and simple transitions when needed.
Sync footage with narration where required.
Deliver videos on time with high consistency.
Requirements:
Proven experience editing for YouTube (please share examples).
Ability to closely replicate styles shown in the reference channels.
Strong sense of pacing, retention, and storytelling through editing.
Organized, responsive, and able to meet deadlines.
Basic understanding of YouTube formatting (aspect ratios, resolution, export settings).
Experience editing true crime or law enforcement-related content.
Knowledge of retention-based editing techniques.
