Job Title: NFR Validation Associate– NFRM Framework
Location : Mumbai
Role Description:
This position is within Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) within the 2nd Line of Defence (LoD). NFRM is the risk type controller for Operational Risk (OR) and owns the overarching Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF).
As part of NFRM Framework, NFR Validation team has the following responsibilities:
· Review and assessment of production processes & IT implementation
· Assessment of data quality and reflection of DB's risk profile
· Validation of parameter & data selection
· Review of model documentation to ensure adherence with the Model
Development Principles
· On-going monitoring of metrics calculated from the models (e.g. Back testing of RWA and Expected Loss)

Your key responsibilities
• Perform data validation with use of statistical methods
• Perform process validation by reviewing and assessing model relevant processes
• Preparation of validation reports and senior management presentations
• Ensuring uniform communication with the business partner as well as the establishment of networks within/outside the Risk function
• Regular review of operational risks, assessment, and evaluation
• Monitoring of industry segment trends of the defined portfolio of risks
• Quality control of work results within the validation scope
• Cooperation in improving existing AMA processes and workflows
• Independent implementation of new validation tasks
• Regular attendance at scheduled meetings and conferences, e.g. presentations of work results to senior decision-makers/workgroups, partly also processing of meetings and telephone conferences (agenda, keeping the minutes)
• Support with urgent activities at short notice
• Cooperation with projects within the scope of the validation specialist function
• Exchange of specialist information with colleagues, e.g. by means of presentations / micro-training
• Support the NFRM MCG and Policy Team on Model validation governance / policy related activities
• Other activities including regular governance and connect with relevant stakeholders etc.
Your skills and experience
Education and Experience:
• Post graduate degree in finance, business, law, economics, risk management or a quantitative/science-related discipline is desirable
• More than five years of relevant professional work experience
• Professional experience in Operational Risk, Internal audit, Capital Computation, Governance would be an advantage
• Project experience (e.g. IT and regulatory)
• Experience in the context of AMA/SMA Model is a strong advantage
• Ability to work effectively with teams spanning multiple geographical locations
• Experience in the preparation of presentations for a senior audience, minutes taking (i.e. strength towards synthesis)
• Experience in business analysis and/or project management would be an advantage
• Experience with managing various stakeholders, deadlines and adhering to regulatory/audit requirements would be an advantage
Competencies:
• Willingness to learn and acquire deep subject-matter / technical expertise
• Experience with internal audit, Compliance, and regulator
• Ability to prepare, participate, and document discussions & build relationships within function
• Very good eye for detail, numerically literate and accurate with numbers
• Able to work as part of an international team, but also self-reliant
• Very Good analytical synthesis skills (i.e. ability to summarize long content/discussions in few lines)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Experience in statistical software (e.g. R, SAS, Python, Tableau)
• Very good knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), experience with intranet page programming desirable
