Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1) Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain and update accounting records, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities. In charge of compliance related to TDS, GST, IT and ROC filings, etc. Prepare and process financial transactions, such as invoices, payments, vendor receipts, donor receipts. Monitor cash flow and reconcile bank statements regularly.
2) Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support management decisions. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
3) Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of the organization's annual budget. Prepare budget v/s actuals statements every quarter and submit to the Board of Directors.
4) Grant and Donor Compliance: Manage financial aspects of grants and donor-funded products, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and reporting requirements. Prepare financial reports for donors.
5) Audit and Compliance: Prepare financial documentation for audits and liaise with auditors. Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and prevent fraud. Ensure all compliance requirements are met including conducting board meetings, submitting directors' forms, etc.
6) Financial Systems and Processes: Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems and processes. Identify areas for automation and efficiency enhancement in financial operations.
7) Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments and team members to provide financial information and support their activities. Participate in meetings and provide financial insights during strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g. ACCA) is a plus.
Proven experience working as an Accountant, preferably in an NGO.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, FCRA, and best practices.
Proficiency in financial management software and spreadsheets (e.g. Tally ERP, Excel).
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide insights.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
