About Position:
We seek a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead in building the next generation of payment solutions that integrate with leading third-party providers such as Stripe and PayPal. You will help design and implement a scalable, AI-enhanced payment platform, working closely with Product, Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that empower nonprofits to focus on their mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payment platforms, API integrations, AI/ML-driven fraud detection, and cloud-native architecture.

What You'll Do:
• Lead the Design and Development of the Payment Platform: Drive the architecture and development of Client’s payment platform, focusing on scalability, reliability, and integration with external payment providers.
• Architect AI-Driven Enhancements: Utilize AI tools and models to enhance payment processing, fraud detection, risk assessment, and transaction efficiency.
• Provide Technical Leadership: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promote the best practices and ensure high-quality code and system design.
• Optimize Transactional Efficiency: Improve payment processing efficiency through AI-driven analytics, automation, and dynamic routing.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with Product Managers, security teams, DevOps, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Ensure Security and Compliance: Lead efforts to implement and maintain PCI-DSS compliance, ensuring secure handling of donor transactions and payment data.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and adaptability within the engineering team.
Expertise You'll Bring:
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, focusing on payment platforms and integrating payment gateways such as Stripe or PayPal.
• Proven experience architecting scalable, secure payment solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) using cloud-native architectures and serverless computing.
• Proficiency in Python, Ruby, Java, C#, or Node.js, with hands-on experience in API design and development and familiarity with Typescript, React, and Docker.
• Experience with AI/ML-driven solutions for fraud detection, transaction optimization, and risk assessment.
• Understanding real-time transaction monitoring, analytics, and PCI compliance.
• Expertise in event-driven architecture and microservices.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a focus on optimizing performance.
• Proven track record of mentoring and providing technical leadership to engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
