Job Title: Credentials Coordinator Profession: Medical Staff Services Specialty: Credentials Coordinator Duration: 13 months Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, onsite Experience: Two years' experience in a medical staff services department or other related setting is preferred. Education: High School Education/GED or equivalent is preferred. Associates/Technical Degree or an equivalent combination of education/related experience is preferred. License: Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) is required. Certifications: None specified. Must-Have: Demonstrated experience in Medical Staff functions in an acute care setting. This position performs core functions of the credentialing lifecycle, including initial appointments and reappointments. Responsibilities include data collection, primary source verification, privileging, and file maintenance. The coordinator engages in all assigned credentialing functions for medical and allied health staff. This includes appointment, reappointment, privileging, and evaluations. Ensures credential files are error-free, accurate, complete, and processed timely. Supports providers in the onboarding process, including computer access, necessary training, orientation, and badging. Maintains current knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and hospital policies. Assists in maintaining the medical staff database. Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the medical staff. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
