Georgie Dansey MP is looking for an MP Support Advisor to join their team Hamilton, for 30 hours per week. This is a wide and varied position providing community engagement and constituent services. You’ll be providing information and support to constituents, helping your MP engage with the community, and supporting your MP’s activities in the community. The ability to build strong and trusted relationships is key to being successful in this role.

You’ll need to have strong relationship management and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work with a diverse range of people and organisations. You’ll work remotely and be a key player in the MP’s support team with regular contact with the wider Labour team in Parliament. Previous experience working in an Electorate and Community Office, or within Parliament would be highly advantageous.

Ngā haepapa | Responsibilities

Liaise between the MP and the community, representing the MP where required
Develop and maintain relationships with local groups and networks, to understand and respond to their needs
Receive and investigate constituents’ concerns and issues, meeting with constituents for further information where required
Advocate for constituents at Ministerial level, with Government agencies, e.g. Work and Income, Immigration New Zealand, and with other business and community organisations where required

The pay band for the role starts at $74,270 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events-based’ agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based Hamilton, for 30 hours per week.
