A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN II
As our Installation Technician II, you will be traveling to assigned geographical areas to support installation of security solutions and innovative technologies. This could include installation of computer images and software, set up and troubleshooting of Windows 7 Operating System Configurations, repair of security systems, network infrastructures and associated equipment that protects citizens, borders, seaports, airports, facilities, and critical assets. You are responsible for accurately and efficiently processing requests for installation, maintenance and repair of security system and network infrastructures. You will read and understand work orders, instructions, schedules, formulas, processing charts, schematics, wire diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings. Any given day, you may assemble, disassemble, and install video and data communication lines and hardware, computer systems, security and surveillance systems using hand and power tools.
Though you spend much of your time working with a team, independently your interpersonal skills come in handy as you will clean and maintain tools, test equipment, and motor vehicles, complete logbooks, daily timesheets, expense vouchers, and verbal and written status reports. Attend and complete developmental and refresher training to improve or maintain technical skills. You will conduct personal safety checks and adhere to established safety standards, guidelines, and directives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN II
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain required government issued security clearances. To meet this requirement, you must be a US Citizen.
• Completion of a technical school program or experience as an electrician's helper or equivalent job with rudimentary knowledge of basic electric theory or minimum of thirty-six months basic construction/relevant technical experience.
• Fundamental understanding of basic hand and power tool use.
• Documented 36 months experience installing electrical components, networks, and computer systems
• Ability to travel (approximately 75% of the time) to remote US locations.
