What will you be doing!

Handling radioactive materials remotely in a shielded hot cell environment.
Operating overhead cranes and hoists.
Operating facility systems and recording and monitoring system readings.
Responding to alarms and upset conditions.
Carrying out other operational duties as required.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:

Education
Successful completion of secondary school (Grade 12).
Technical diploma is an asset.
Experience
Direct experience in operations or an industrial work environment is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Manual dexterity and depth perception required to perform remote handling of radioactive materials inside a hot cell.
Ability to wear PPE&C; in particular, wearing a respirator will be required for some aspects of the job.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.
Must possess good judgement and communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, unusual, or hazardous conditions.
General knowledge of process, mechanical, and electrical system operations and maintenance practices.
Security Clearance Eligibility Required
Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

This position is part of the Power Workers Union Local 1000 and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in their Collective Agreement. As a member of this bargaining unit, you’ll benefit from clear expectations around hours of work, wages, vacation, and other conditions that support a fair and consistent working environment.
Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.
Capable of handling the physical aspects of the position.
Capable of wearing PPE required for all aspects of the position.
Work in moderate-radiation-hazard environments where personal protective equipment is required.
The environment demands high vigilance to alarms, lights, and signals as a safety requirement.
