About the role

This is a senior clinical leadership role for an experienced Nurse Practitioner ready to work at the top of their scope and help shape the future of regional oncology care. The position is employed by Te Pūriri o Te Ora and based predominantly in Manukau Health Park at Counties Manukau. In this role you will be part of a region-wide shift bringing oncology services out of tertiary centres and closer to communitiesenabled by new cancer medicines funding and a nurse-led model of care.

In this role, you will:

Practise autonomously while providing leadership within a multidisciplinary team
Deliver advanced assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, and treatment
Influence service design and contribute to regional models of care
Partner with patients, whānau, and communities across a range of settings
Contribute to inpatient and emergency oncology consults over time

About the Team/Service/Location

Counties Manukau Health is a dynamic, progressive organisation at the forefront of innovative healthcare in Aotearoa. We work to improve equity in health outcomes for Maaori, Pacific peoples, and communities experiencing disparities, developing locally driven plans to enhance the wellbeing of the region. Our main sites include Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital, and Manukau Health Park.

This role is based at Manukau Health Park, where you will work collaboratively in a regional capacity alongside Te Pūriri o Te Ora Medical Oncologists, supporting the oncology nursing team. The service is committed to advancing innovative models of care and embedding equity-focused, culturally responsive practice across all areas.

Te Pūriri o Te Ora is the name that has been gifted to our northern regional cancer and blood services by Kahurangi Rangimārie Naida Glavish of Ngāti Whātua, Chief Advisor Tikanga for Te Toka Tumai Auckland. Te Pūriri o Te Ora means "the Pūriri tree of wellbeing" and speaks to the many qualities and gifts of the Pūriri tree and our aspiration to provide a place of healing and wellbeing for our communities.

Te Pūriri o Te Ora is the biggest cancer and blood service within Aotearoa, providing care to approximately 40% of the country. About You

Youre a confident, forward-thinking Nurse Practitioner who thrives in complexity and leads through change. You bring strong clinical credibility, think strategically, and are driven to improve equity and access to care.

You will have:

Registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council
A current APC with Nurse Practitioner scope
5+ years recent clinical experience in a relevant area
A completed clinical Masters degree
Working at Health New Zealand
