In this pivotal position, you will oversee a diverse range of advanced services within radiation therapy. You will play a key role in driving clinical excellence, mentoring nursing staff, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compassionate care.
Reporting to the Site Manager, this full-time role (76 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday) offers a unique platform to expand your leadership capabilities, influence service delivery, and contribute to the strategic direction of our cancer care services. Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate evidence-based, patient-centred care.
Care for patients with light sedation and fixed cranial frames in place.
Provision of advanced patient-centred cancer care.
Provide clinical and professional guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
Collaborate with site staff to improve patient satisfaction and service delivery.
Manage physical, human, and financial resources effectively.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of nursing staff.
Develop rosters that optimise skill mix and support training needs.
Liaise with internal stakeholders including education, quality, and research teams.
Ensure adherence to national policies and safety/quality standards.
About You
You are a compassionate and proactive nurse leader with a strong background in oncology nursing, ideally with experience in radiation oncology. You thrive in dynamic environments, lead with empathy, and are committed to delivering the highest standard of care. You’ll bring excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for innovation.
Skills & Experience
Current AHPRA registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Post-graduate nursing/management qualifications (or working towards) or equivalent working experience, in addition to a minimum of 2-years leadership experience.
Experience in oncology nursing, ideally in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
High level operational / clinical management knowledge and skills in a relevant setting, that demonstrate an ability to effectively coordinate unit / service activities
Experience in quality management, including implementation of recommendations
Demonstrated ability to manage human, physical, and financial resources within budget.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a nursing team within a multidisciplinary team environment, including change management.
High level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
High level leadership using contemporary change management methodologies and an understanding of current issues impacting on the nursing profession.
