Job Description
Job Purpose:
To provide efficient and professional administrative support to the nursery, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and excellent customer service for parents, carers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:
Maintain and update children’s records, registers, and attendance logs.
Handle incoming calls, emails, and enquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
Manage filing systems, photocopying, and general correspondence.
Support staff recruitment processes (e.g., reference checks).
Track and manage DBS checks, staff training records, and qualifications.
Financial Administration:
Process invoices, fees, and payments accurately and on time.
Maintain fee payment records and follow up on outstanding balances.
Prepare financial reports or summaries for management when required.
Parent & Staff Liaison:
Act as the first point of contact for parents and visitors.
Assist with the onboarding of new families and staff.
Support the organisation of nursery events, open days, and parent meetings.
Compliance & Record-Keeping:
Ensure all records are compliant with Ofsted and safeguarding requirements.
Assist in maintaining policies, procedures, and GDPR-compliant data handling.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Previous administrative experience, ideally in a childcare or school setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Desirable:
Knowledge of nursery software (e.g., Famly, Tapestry, or similar).
Understanding of EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
First Aid or Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete).

Pay: £10.00-£12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
