Job Description
We are looking for a passionate, driven, and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our brand-new setting at Mill Lane Childcare Garndiffaith.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a setting from the very beginning — creating a warm, inspiring, and high-quality environment where children thrive and staff feel valued and supported.
As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring exceptional standards of care, education, and compliance in line with CIW and the Curriculum for Wales.
You will lead a small, growing team and play a key role in building a positive culture, strong parent partnerships, and a setting that truly feels like a home-from-home.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring a safe, organised, and high-quality environment for all children
Ensure full compliance with CIW regulations and all relevant Welsh legislation and standards
Inspire, support, and develop your team to deliver outstanding childcare and learning experiences
Plan and oversee a child-led, play-based curriculum in line with the Curriculum for Wales
Build strong, professional relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
Oversee staff recruitment, inductions, supervision, and performance management
Create and manage staff rotas to ensure ratio compliance and smooth daily operations
Monitor children’s development and ensure high-quality observations and planning are in place
Maintain accurate records and ensure robust safeguarding and health & safety practices
Drive continuous improvement and contribute to the long-term success and growth of the setting
What We’re Looking For
A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare (Level 5 desirable for management role in Wales)
Proven experience in a leadership or senior role within an early years setting
Strong knowledge of CIW requirements and safeguarding procedures
A clear understanding of child development and child-led learning approaches
Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A proactive, positive, and solution-focused mindset
A genuine passion for creating outstanding early years environments
